Sourcing
We only source our ingredients locally, straight from the source whenever possible. This drives our costs down, so we can pass that onto you.

Steam & Blanch
To retain as many nutrients as possible while still becoming palatable to your pup, we steam our starches and veggies al dente then quickly blanch, to retain crunch, color, and nutritional value.
Slow Roasted Meats
Our meats are slow roasted at low temps. All we add is a dash of salt. Each recipe is around 75% muscle meats, 25% nutrient-dense organ meats, and these USDA meats make up over 50% of the entire recipe.
Minimally Processed
Once cooked, the only thing our ingredients experience is dicing, stirring, and vacuum sealing. What you end up with is real food that hasn’t been altered. It’s not rocket science, but it is pup rocket fuel 🙂

The big national brands offer this through intensely expensive (and wasteful) shipping methods. We deliver locally, but with no extra packaging. Just a truck, ice chests, and fresh Good Pup.

We’ve designed our auto-delivery program to be quick and easy for everyone involved. Not only will auto-delivery make your life easier: no more forgetting to order or having to fill in your info week in and week out, but it also really helps our logistics out as well!
We are still a small local brand, cooking in small hand made batches. Being able to time and scale our cooks and deliveries around consistent auto-deliveries is huge for us. And there’s no commitment from you. Cancel in ONE button click if and when you want.
How Does Good Pup Delivery Work?

We are constantly working to expand our delivery zones, however, we have chosen to grow rather carefully because impeccable customer service trumps expansion within our company’s ethos.
Currently, we offer very expedited delivery to the following areas. Delivery within 1-3 business days (sometimes within hours) … our current record is 15 minutes 🙂

- Spanish Springs
- Verdi
- North Valleys (stead, red rock, sun valley, etc)
We also offer once per week delivery to the following areas.
- Washoe Valley
- Carson City
- Genoa
- Gardnerville

What Can I Expect After Ordering?
You should receive an order confirmation email within minutes of ordering. If you don’t, it is possible your info at checkout wasn’t entered properly and you should contact us at: orders@goodpupfood.co
After that, the next time you’ll hear from us is on your delivery day. You will receive an email notifying that your order will be delivered that day. If for any reason that day does not work for you, simply contact us via email, call, or text and we’ll reschedule your delivery.
After that, you’ll get a text when delivery is imminent (within an hour of delivery typically).
Best Practices For Receiving Your Delivery?
Once your delivery day is set, we will be in communication with you throughout the day. If you know you will be home on the day of your delivery, you really don’t need to do anything special!
Typically, we ring the doorbell and hand you the order. If you prefer a more stealthy delivery (so as not to set off dog alarms, or you just don’t want to put clothes on lol) just let us know! We’re happy to accommodate to your specific needs.
If you know you won’t be home for hours, a small cooler on the doorstep is a fantastic way to buy you a couple extra hours of time keeping the food frozen. Good Pup comes frozen solid, so with a cooler you should be able to safely have the order on your porch for several hours without issue.
A secondary option, is that we can leave a cooler bag to buy some extra time. We try not to do this much, as they are both expensive and wasteful, and are not as good as a real cooler. If we do need to leave a cooler bag, we’d love to get it back on your next order.
If you know you won’t be home at all for that delivery day, just contact us and we will reschedule you for the next available delivery day.
Once you receive your order, put any bags you are not intending to serve within the week back into your own freezer. Allow the bag(s) you intend to start serving to thaw and start serving up some fresh Good Pup Food!
Can I Pick Up Good Pup From Anywhere?
In an effort to keep our prices low, we have opted to be primarily direct-to-consumer as opposed to partnering with many pet supply stores at this time. We would have to raise our prices substantially to go into most local pet stores. We really want to keep our prices in reach for the normal dog owner!
We are close to obtaining our own retail space in Reno, and will update this message as soon as that happens. For now, we are primarily delivery only. Big, big changes and improvements are coming as soon as we acquire this MUCH needed space for expansion. You’ll see new recipes, new treat offerings, new delivery areas, as well as local pickup options all come online once we get settled in our new commercial kitchen.
